Las Vegas, August 21, 2004. Randy Couture has unfinished business to settle with UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Vitor Belfort. At UFC 46, Couture lost his title to Belfort when the bout was halted due to a cut less than a minute into the fight. The third battle between the two warriors will settle the dispute once and for all. In another feature bout, top Light Heavyweight contender Chuck Liddell puts his pending title shot on the line to settle long-standing grudge with Lion's Den fighter Vernon ''Tiger'' White. The undercard features many top rising young MMA stars. Only one fight goes the distance and there are tons of KO's, most of them pretty quick too. Diaz vs Parysian: Great, technical fight, the only one of the night to go the distance. Thompson vs Edwards: Good match starting very technical but moving to a knockout that is being considered the best ever highkick knockout. Eilers vs Kyle: Short, but with a clear knockout. Jhun vs Lytle: The only submission of the night but with a lot of action before the end. Terrell vs Lindland: The upset of the year! A quick knockout with brutal 'ground and pound'. Riggs vs Doerkson: Very good fight ending with a very brutal ground and pound attack. Liddell vs White: The stand up war that everyone anticipated happened ending with a good knockout and a very clear picture of who is the number one contender for the light heavy weight championship Belfort vs Couture: Very one sided match that ends due to controversy over a headbutt. This time around though, a clear advantage went to one of the fighters. Overall, one of the UFC's best shows.
