This is the first volume of a re-edited and re-released DVD version of the Offficial JKA Shotokan Kata Series (English language version) made by the JKA in 1985. Produced by the Japan Karate Association under the technical direction of its Chief Instructor, Masatoshi Nakayama. Mr. Nayama is assisted by M. Tanaka, A. Isaka, Y. Osaka, M. Yahara, T. Imura and other senior JKA instructors. It has been upgraded with navigational menus, new graphics, and an extensive historical section, illustrated with rare archival images and bonus footage, by noted Shotokan historian Harry Cook (Author of Shotokan Karate A Precise History). Although not exactly cheap, as is usually the case with Japanese productions, the price represents a price drop of more than 40% from the original VHS release.
